Join us in prayer
We adore you, o Most Holy Lord Jesus Christ, present here and in all the Churches of the entire world and praise you because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.

O God, Father of mercy and compassion, You aroused in the heart of your servant, Brother John Hoever, the founder of the Brothers of the Poor of St. Francis, the selfless readiness for fulfillment of Your Holy Will.
In the unique spirit of Franciscan peace and joy, the Brothers of the Poor strive to follow the example of John in ministry to the young, the neglected, the poor, the elderly and to all those who are powerless and disadvantaged. We ask You, Jesus our Brother, to let it be made known to the world in our day, that his life and work were pleasing to You.
Let all the Brothers of the Poor of St. Francis imitate his example of generosity and self-sacrifice with increasing effort. Send good, holy men to carry on the work entrusted to the Brothers by Brother John, for your greater honor and glory and so that all the Brothers, present and future, may be “Instruments of His Kingdom when and where He chooses.” Amen.

Life of Prayer
As central realities in our life, the Eucharist and the Word of God bestow on us the legacy of Sonship with the Father through Christ and provide us with the continual sources of spiritual strength. In a spirit of faith, we participate daily when possible in the celebration of the Eucharist. We continue this praise of the Lord by celebrating together as a community morning and evening prayer of the Church from the Liturgy of the Hours. We devote at least one-half hour daily to meditation. Following the example of Saint Francis, we frequently venerate the presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.
Prayer, whether private or communal, is of the greatest importance of our consecration. All our apostolic activity flows from this source. With great care we cultivate its spirit. We foster within each community an appreciation for prayer by providing a variety of opportunities for personal and communal prayer. Participation in the annual retreat and monthly days of recollection are essential to the development of our life of prayer.
