Welcome to the CFP Associates
Our Associates are men and women, Catholic and non-Catholic, ages generally from sixteen through early, middle, or senior adulthood, who are striving to live the Gospel life in the tradition of St. Francis of Assisi and in the spirit of John Philip Hoever.
Associates also share in the charism and mission by sharing the Brothers of the Poor of St. Francis values of serving the Lord in one's neighbor by service in charity and action on behalf of justice and the promotion of peace.
Associates assist the Brothers in expanding their mission to areas that have not yet heard the Gospel message.
Associates are given the opportunity to extend the Franciscan charism and mission of the Brothers of the Poor of St. Francis to other laity and secular people in order to broaden the foundation of the Congregation and its role in the Church. Associates carry the Brothers' charism into the world in a variety of ways, as the Lord calls them, each according to his or her gifts.

Come and Share in Our Mission and Charism as an Associate
Those interested may obtain information from any Brother of the Poor. However, an application form needs to be completed through the Team Leader for Associates. Each Associate has a sponsor and attends a series of orientation sessions. Candidates make a formal covenant in the presence of the brothers and associates. |
Father in Heaven,
in the work of spreading the Gospel, You have chosen many people to help you in a special way by devoting their lives to the service of others. Among these are Brothers of the Poor of St. Francis and their Associates. Permit me, under the guidance of blessed John Hoever, our Founder, and in the spirit of Holy Father Francis, to pray that the efforts of our Brothers and Associates be blessed. May many generous souls join us in their work to spread Your Kingdom when and Where You choose throughout the world. I ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen! |
